w3m: ssl error (system library?)

SSL error: error:02001002:system library:fopen:No such file or directory
When attempting to access SSL sites with w3m under Sid, I'm getting the
following error:

  SSL error: error:02001002:system library:fopen:No such file or directory

...and the site doesn't load.

I don't see anything particularly meaningful from a strace on the
session.  I seem to recall a fix being posted here in the past month but
haven't been able to find it in a search.
