Problem accessing some websites

I run a debian 2.2 box using IP Masqing to provide internet access for a
small office.
Recently, the users have found certain websites can no longer be accessed.
These are important sites to obtain information such as the US PTO. It is
required that these sites be available for the office to get its work done.
I remember reading about a similar problem, but have lost the reference. If
I remember right, some websites or associated systems do not handle IPv6
according to spec while Linux does and this leads to the sites not being
available. The browser finds the site and then it hangs. Does anyone have a
workaround for this problem?

Currently running the 2.2.19 kernel and all other updates to Potato.

TIA

Ed Lawson
