Tricky part is PCMCIA. Especially NIC.

PCMCIA modules during initialization become daemon before finishing all
initialization. So sometimes race condition with other init.d script
happens.

Easy fix is put long sleep and console output to let system waits until
card slot is initialized to cause beep sounds.

Proper way is reorganize init.d script activation through PCMCIA script
which is more elaborate.

Good luck:-)

PS: My IBM notebook PC used as gateway router (2 PCMCIA NICs had this
problem.)
