Do as root:

# addgroup <username> audio

This will put the user <username> to the group audio, so the user <username>
will have permissions to all audio devices.

I reccomend you to use modprobe.

# dpkg -s modconf
Package: modconf
Status: purge ok not-installed
Priority: optional
Section: base
