woody install/openssh/sshd issue

hi.

i finally decided to try out woody, so installed on a machine.

i am having difficulties with sshd.  i can use ssh to connect to remote
servers, i cannot connect to the new (woody) machine via ssh.  a look at
my auth.log tells me:

Aug 23 17:13:22 vandana sshd[4932]: fatal: get_sock_port: getnameinfo
NI_NUMERICSERV failed

since i have not yet compiled any programs on this system, and have only
used debian packages up to this point, i'm wondering how i can deal with
this problem.  I have not seen anything that i recognize in the bugs list
regarding this error.

my resolv.conf file is identical to one on the potato machine;  both
forward and reverse lookups work fine.
