Ah, yes, changing things are completely different!

First, start out by taking a look at
<http://cc-mode.sourceforge.net/cc-mode.html#Customizing%20Indentation>.
The rest of the manual is also useful, but this should get you
started.  The bit there about c-basic-offset is the key for your
current problem.
