I have it running w/ kernel 2.2.19pre17, however this does not support my Netgear fa311 NIC and I've been unsuccessful in compiling their source code. I've been trying to compile and use the 2.4.8 kernel because 2.4 should have National Semiconductor chipset support (and hence my netgear card) but when I try to boot I get nothing. The screen says:

I have read that older machines could have a problem w/ bzImage, but I thought the debian release was in bz format, and the CD kernel image runs correctly. Any help?
