	I'm following this thread closely, since I can borrow a
	Conexant Fusion 878a board from my uncle for 1 or 2 days and
	I'd *LOVE* to capture a rare VHS video and put it in a digital
	format.

	BTW, what software in Debian would be recommended for
	converting the generated AVI file to an MPEG-1 format suitable
	for producing a VCD disc.

	What about converting the video to a DIVX format? Can
	libavifile be used?

	BTW #2, reading the list of supported cards in the
	documentation files that came with Kernel 2.4.7 (the CARDLIST
	file), I don't see the Broktree 878a chip mentioned, but I'd
	assume that it would be supported, since the 878 chip is
	supported, right?

	Has anybody else done something similar with Debian?
