arwen:~# apt-console
su: apt-console: command not found

arwen:~# apt-get install apt-console
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package apt-console

arwen:~# apt-cache search apt-console

does not find find it either. I am using Debian unstable, but should
it not find it then?

I have these in my /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb ftp://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian stable main contrib non-free
deb ftp://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free
