Make sure your modem is supported. Take a look at this section of the
Hardware HOWTO -
http://www.linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/Hardware-HOWTO/modems.html
If your modem isn't supported get a different one.
Run "pppconfig" to configure your modem and then use "pon" to start
and "poff" to stop.
