Does JDK 1.3.1 work with testing?

Hi,


I recently updated to testing and a self-compiled kernel 2.4.3 and
things work great, except for java. Basically any java application
segfaults on startup. I'm using (well, er, was using :) Sun's jdk 1.3.1.
Am I missing something? Apologies if this is a faq, but I couldn't find
an up-to-date answer anywhere and just subscribed. Is glibc 2.2.3 the
problem?

java -version gives:

java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1-b24)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1-b24, mixed mode)

Help is greatly appreciated.
