It isn't a .deb package, but rather a sample floppy image. Use dd to dump the image to a floppy, then copy stage2 to /boot/grub. Make yourself a menu.lst file (a sample is included in the image) and reboot. At the grub command line you can install it on the MBR. This is how I installed it. HTH, -D
