You should have entered one while installing the system.
- Reboot the system.
- If you don't see a LILO prompt, reboot and hold <shift> key.
- At the LILO prompt, type:
linux init=/bin/sh
- At prompt:
$ mount -o remount,rw /
$ passwd # you will be prompted for a new password.
# Remember it.
$ mount -o remount,ro /
- Shut down the system (power off or reset switch).
You should now have a root password. Create a user account and use it
rather than root. Read the manual.
