I installed my own build of sendmail and would like to also have the logrotate functionality. However logrotate depends on mailx, which in turn depends on some mail server. But apt-get doesn't recognize I have sendmail installed. I don't want to install the debian sendmail package. Is there anything I can do? Like tell my apt-get that I do have sendmail installed?
