You should be OK.  The only thing you need is

  edit /etc/modules (If it has different peripherals like NIC...)
  make sure HDD is on same IDE port
  make sure BIOS is ready for HDD

Boot with "Linux 1" to get into single user may help some time to
configure.

If it stops during Lilo, it may be BIOS issue.
