dpkg help
hi
i've libc6 2.2.4-* and i want to upgrade from the old to the new.
I dont have a very fast net connection so i've to download it to some
other place and then trasfer it here. i also have most of the dependencies
and "recommended" packages of libc6. I've kept them in a directory
/misc/tmp. What tool should i use to install them ?
If i use dpkg, what should be the --refuse-things flag so that if
in case there is any error, a good package is not deleted ( i say this
because, when i tried to upgrade libdb3, it removed libdb.so.3 and failed
most of programs ). is this ok ?
dpkg -i --refuse-conflicts,dependencies,remove-essential,downgrade
-E -R /misc/tmp/
Thanks in advance
regards
