Gnome desktop changes colors when you start Adobe Acrobet Reader or Lyx

Hi-

  Has anyone experienced a kind of funny problem when you install the 
Acrobat Reader package?
  The problem's that, whenever the program's started, all the colors in 
the Gnome desktop change to bright hues. Reader's in dark green and 
blue, though. The colors flash when you move the cursor to inside the 
Reader window, and outside is normal again, but the Reader has borders 
in bright colors and grey on the inside.
  Everything is funtional, though, but it's a bother that I'd rather fix.
  The same exact thing happens with Lyx.

  Can anyone help?
