FWIW, IIRC, you don't have to install the KDE binaries, just the
libraries. Try 'apt-get install kpresenter' and look at the list of
additional packages that it wants to install. You should only find
library packages there. And those won't try to take over your menu
system.
Not like I had any problems with the binaries...
