should your ISP be using dhcp just type 
	ifconfig -a 
at the prompt, this should display the DNS/nameservers wich you need

IT'S  /etc/resolv.conf

Figure out what your provider's nameserver ip is
and add:

nameserver ip_of_your_nameserver
