Upgraded to "testing" + 2.4.2 kernel, and dselect + SOCKS nit working
I've got a big problem, I hope someone can ppoint me in a direction on.
I have a machine that lives behinf a corporate firewall. Historicaly, I
have been able to get dslect to work using "runsocks dselct". I needed
laregfile support on this machien, so yesterday, I canged
/etc/apt/sources-list to point at testing, went ito dselect, and did an
"install". Then I downloaded the 2.4.2 kernel, built and installed it using
kernel-package.
Now I have several problems, the bigest one of which is that dslect does
not work anymore. Specificaly, I get messages like "Something Wicked
happend resolving SITENAME" where SITENAME is for instnace
"http.us.debian.or/http". Whats realley strnage is that I can "runsocsk ftp
ftp.debian.org" and get a good conection.
Could some kind soul sugest where to star, fixing this. I am in big trouble
fixing the otehr problems untill I get the abiloty to load packages!
