Uh. Yes most likely.....you have to set you DNS nameserver in the
"/etc/resolv.conf" file

entry that looks like.

nameserver 204.20.23.205
nameserver 204.20.23.206

( If you have more that one DNS server for you ISP, Your ISP should have
this info )

also is your computer on a network ? does it have a default route ? wvdial
add a
default route to the routing table. but it does not remove the first default
route.

You might wan't to set the first default route up with an diff metric, say
of 1. and wvdial will set it's default with metric of  0 " ( 0 has
priority )
