add a testing deb-src line in your sources.list
apt-get update
apt-get -b source pppd
dpkg --install pppd*.deb
pppd support changed in 2.4.1 and you need the latest to get things
going again. It';s back compat so don't worry and I've been running
it since 2.4.1 came out without a single hassle (current connect
is 3 days old)
