    I have had a problem similar to this also.  Though i am running a nVidia
GeGorce 2 when i installed UT i had a feeling it was using software OpenGL
[really really slow]  If u go into the UnrealTournament.ini you can look at the
OpenGL driver used [or glide, but i dont know how to set that up] and change the
driver used...
