I am having the same problems, although I have been using unstable for
quite some time.  I did an "apt-get update" recently, then rebooted, and
now I cannot set either lo or eth1.  eth0 will work if I let dhcpcd set
it, but if I try to set it with ifconfig I get the same errors.

No idea what to do.
