i'm having a hell of a time getting quake3 to run on my girlfriend's
machine. she has a

   voodoo 3/3000
   woody
Xfree 4 with tdfx module loaded
kernel 2.4.0 with DRI support compiled in.
   3dfx module loaded in

the problem is frame rate -- slooooooooowwww, as if there's no hardware
acceleration at all.

here are the installed packages:

i'm kind of stumped. i was under the impression that the new voodoo drivers
(which are used in X4) don't make use of glide.

can someone help me with this? i went to debianplanet and followed thier
howto to the letter with no results. i'm really out of ideas!

thanks!
pete
