/etc/ppp/ip-up.d/fetchmailstarter
#!/bin/sh
su - $YOURUSER -c 'fetchmail -d 3600'
/etc/ppp/ip-down.d/fetchmailstopper
#!/bin/sh
su - $YOURUSER -c 'fetchmail -q'
kill -9 $(cat /home/$YOURUSER/.fetchmail.pid 2>/dev/null) 2>/dev/null
Could also be put in a loop for more than one user.
