even with this C expr, last time I checked unstable|testing there was no
2.3.X | X >= 18 as required by 2.4.whatever kernels.
(last time == today morning)

I had to grab it (2.3.23) from pool!

BTW, modconf still doesn't work; at least I was able to configure my
modules in /etc/modules and had them loaded at boot.
