dear all, i'm trying to resolve a "conf.modules is newer than /lib/modules/foo/foo.dep" problem. i thought that depmod -a would rewrite /lib/modules/foo/foo.dep. in fact, that's what i thought the whole point of depmod -a was. apparently, depmod isn't writing this file, and the error message isn't going away. i know the message is harmless enough, but i'd still like to shut it up. i can always touch foo.dep, but that's cheating. what's the real way of resolving this error message? thanks! pete
