X: user not authorized to run the X server

Hi,

I'm running 4.0.1-10 and now I get:-

elm:$ startx

X: user not authorized to run the X server, aborting.
giving up.
xinit:  Connection refused (errno 111):  unable to connect to X server
xinit:  No such process (errno 3):  Server error.


Another box runs 4.0.1-8 and works but I can't spot any config
difference.  I changed Xserver to allow Anybody to use X but got the same
result.

Any help much apreciated.
