aptitude shows this directly.
- Run aptitude.
- type "/python" to list python-related packages.
- Highlight python. "i" will show information. One section is
"Packages which depend on python-base" Highlight.
I'm *just* starting to use aptitude. I believe the leading character
indicators are:
i: installed
p: purged
...though I'm not sure about this.
The man page is a bit light, though the README under /usr/doc/aptitude
is pretty good.
