another option would be to check out sendmail.org´s excellent 
faq...there are anti-relay rulesets for every sendmail from 8.6 to 8.8 
IIRC (from 8.9 on they´re built-in).

of course, you could always to choose to bypass sendmail for incoming 
connections, the obtuse smtpd http://www.obtuse.com/smtpd.html is my 
favourite choice for somesuch (although partly for it´s aggressively 
amusing messages ("host.bla.com is thrilled beyond bladder control to 
meet you") *g*).
