Hi John!

For some days i had the same problem. I made much changes of fontpackages
and found by doing this the minimal required packages for the fonts that X
will work : xfonts-75dpi (or 100dpi) , xfonts-base , xfonts-pex. If you have
all these packages installed i can do no more for you. You should also have
installed xbaseclients , xserver-common , xserver for yourvideocard and
xcontrib for a working X. All this packages i had taken from Debian-2.2.0
potato. Will hope your woody is the so too.
