Eh? To stop sunrpc I just typed:
/etc/init.d/portmap stop
mv -i /etc/init.d/portmap /etc/init.d/portmap-hidden
Perhaps there's a typo in "/etc/rc2.d" because my portmap was started
from /etc/rcS.d/S41portmap.
But I think they may be getting caught out by portmap's having a
second chance to start. If there's an nfs in /etc/fstab, then
/etc/init.d/mountnfs.sh will start it.
