Hello! I've got a problem with my Philips CDD4201 cd-recorder. It's a ATAPI device, I installed it with the SCSI driver, like described in README.ATAPI from cdrecord. I've got no problem with burning CDs. But if I mount the device for read (mount /dev/scd0 /cdrom), everything looks good (I can read files without problems). As late as there is no access to the device for a few minutes. After this break a new access spawns the following error message: -----8<--------------------------------------------------------------- scsi0: ERROR on channel 0, id 0, lun 0, CDB: 0x03 00 00 00 40 00 Info fld=0x0, Current sd0b:00: sns = f0 3 ASC= 2 ASCQ=87 Raw sense data:0xf0 0x00 0x03 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x13 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x02 0x87 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x0a 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 0x00 I/O error: dev 0b:00, sector 92 ide-scsi: The scsi wants to send us more data than expected - discarding data -------------------------------------------------------------->8------ The error appears since I changed my sytem to debian 2.2. Previously under SuSE I had not such problems. Apart from this, I'm very content with debian. :-) Any ideas? Thank you. Hille
