Strange Post-install linkage Potato to RH6.2

Hi,
   I've just installed Potato onto my laptop in a multi-boot
configuration.

With LILO only configured for Potato on /dev/hda2 I can reboot with no
problems but once LILO is configured for Win98 on /dev/hda1 and RH6.2 on
/dev/hda5 modprobe complains about "Can't open dependencies file
/lib/modules/2.2.14-12/modules.deb"

RH6.2 is using kernel 2.2.14-12 and Potato 2.2.17. The modules.deb is in
/lib/modules/2.2.17.

Running debconf comes up with no modules. I tried putting a symbolic
link of 2.2.17 to 2.2.14-12 but that did not work.

Does anybody know how to fix this?
