Reccommends == Depends as far as dselect is concerned..

because unfortuantly dselect treats Reccommends exactly the same way
it treats Depends.  i consider this behaviour broken as you also seem
to.  but i am not a C programmer so all i can do is make suggestions. 

personally i just use apt-get as much as possible and dselect as
little as possible.
