Another data point...
When I installed 2.2.17pre6-1 that I built from
kernel-source-2.2.17_2.2.17pre6-1_all.deb, I started getting this
message for various unrelated processes. Frequently this was accompanied
by a system lockup (alt-sysreq sometimes worked, sometimes didn't).
I ended up reverting to 2.2.10.
It should be noted that I installed the USB support patches which were
backported from the 2.4, so there's a possiblilty that this caused the
problem.
While researching this on dejanews there were some mentions of newer -pre
versions which might help, but I'll probably wait for 2.2.17 final release
before revisiting this.
