xconsole & .Xresources

This is odd !

I've got xconsole behaving differently on two systems-
  * On one system, the scrollbars look like they're *step/3d (nice)
  * The other, the scollbars look stock (not nice)

/etc/ld.so.conf is the same on both systems (and yes I just did
ldconfig to make sure they're in sync):
/usr/lib/tkstep
/usr/X11R6/lib/Xaw3d
/usr/X11R6/lib/neXtaw
/usr/local/lib
/usr/share/wine/lib
/usr/lib/libc5-compat
/lib/libc5-compat
/usr/X11R6/lib

and I scp'd ~/.Xresources from one system to the other, so they're
also the same.

Both systems are upto date woody.

What should I look at now?
