Take a look at your font path with :

cat /etc/X11/XF86Config | grep Font

Make a mental note as to whether the 75dpi fonts are listed
before or after the 100dpi fonts.

Then, check your monitor default dot per inch output with:

xdpyinfo | grep resolution

It will probably say 75x75 dots per inch.

You want the first font size listed in your font path (in your
XF86Config file) to be the same as the resolution from xdpyinfo.
So, if you have 75x75 dpi as your default monitor resolution,
make sure that your font path in your XF86Config file lists your
75dpi fonts *before* the 100dpi fonts.  Just edit "100dpi" with
"75dpi" and "75dpi" with "100dpi".
