Boot specifying "init=/bin/bash" on the kernel command line. If you have LILO, then say "linux init=/bin/bash" where linux is the name of the LILO option for Linux. If security features prevent you from doing this you should try booting via the rescue disk. Either get a shell from the installation system and mount your root partition or say "linux root=<root_partition> init/bin/bash" at the first prompt. > -----Original Message----- > From: broonie@sirena.org.uk [mailto:broonie@sirena.org.uk]On Behalf Of > Mark Brown > Sent: Sunday, July 23, 2000 13:38 Please quote properly: delete material not needed for context and place new text after old. -- Mark Brown mailto:broonie@tardis.ed.ac.uk (Trying to avoid grumpiness) http://www.tardis.ed.ac.uk/~broonie/ EUFS http://www.eusa.ed.ac.uk/societies/filmsoc/
