Printing very slow

For about a week now, printing has been an unpleasant experience.  It
sometimes take about 5 or more minutes for 1 page to be printed from
the spool.  I had no problems earlier.

My setup: Printer HP5L - lpr - mixed slink/potato.

Where do I look for a fix?
