I mannaged to get the base system installed from floppies but now when I try to install the packages from the CDROM I get this message:

hdc : tray open or drive not ready
hdc : tray open or drive not ready
hdc : tray open or drive not ready
hdc : tray open or drive not ready
hdc : tray open
end_request: I/O error, dev 16:00, sector 64
isofs_read_super: bread failed, dev 16:00 iso_blknum 16 block 32
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/cdrom,
or too many mounted file systems
hdc : tray open or drive not ready
hdc : tray open or drive not ready
Unable to mount /dev/cdrom on /var/lib/dpkg/methods/mnt, type iso9660.

This is all Greek to me, but it seems to recognize the CDROM at startup and the busy light did flicker when I tried to install the packages.

I think I need to load the drivers for the sound card before I can install off of the cd, or at least put them on the rescue disk. Does anyone know how to do this?? (or is this even the right thing to do?)
