you can allow every user to use the /cdrom by a fstab like that:
/dev/fd0 /floppy auto defaults,user,noauto 0 0
/dev/cdrom /cdrom iso9660 defaults,ro,user,noauto 0 0
for audio there is audio in /etc/group
(here you must enter every user explicitly)
On redhat the users who are physicaly logged in have
special rights, it think they do it with pam somehow.
