No... sendmail is for SMTP mail, that's for sending mail to other servers
and other users, you want a pop server, there are currently a few around,
look for cucipop or qpopper (probably more)...

POP is for downloading mail from the server to the workstation with
mailreaders as NetScape, Outlook, Eudora etc...
