RE: Debian upgrade problems/perl
I'd love to upgrade to potato, but...
vw1:/usr/local/pkgs# apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these.
Sorry, but the following packages have unmet dependencies:
perl-5.005: Depends: perl-5.005-base (= 5.005.03-7.1) but it is not
installable
libdb2: Depends: libc6 (>= 2.1.3-2) but 2.1.2-5 is installed
libc6-dev: Depends: libc6 (= 2.0.7.19981211-6) but 2.1.2-5 is installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try using -f.
I apparently need to get these resolved first. That perl-5.005 line is from
me trying a dpkg -i of perl-5.005 and perl-5.005-base.

hi,
i have no recent perl experience, but when i upgraded
from slink (2.1) to potato (2.2), the perl package
upgraded to 5.005 w/o any snags. (...maybe a potato
upgrade is in order.)
