Compiler errors of this sort are often inidicative of a possible
impending hardware failure, usually with memory, though CPU or disk
failures might also produce similar results.
The usual test is whether or not the failure is reproducible -- does the
build fail in the same place every time (possible problem with source or
disk storage), or different ones (usu associated with memory/CPU
failures)?
Strongly recommend you find a memory testing utility and use it (try
Freshmeat).
