Is this normal after an apt-get upgrade ?
Just did an apt-get upgrade on my potato system today, and during the
package configuration, I noticed the following in some of my log files:
[date/time and hostname omitted for brevity]
portmap[1248]: connect from 216.249.5.123 to dump(): request from unauthorized host
portmap[1248]: connect from 216.249.5.123 to dump(): request from unauthorized host
init: Trying to re-exec init
portmap[1248]: connect from 216.249.5.123 to dump(): request from unauthorized host
tcplogd: sunrpc connection attempt from dial-1393.tor.pathcom.com [216.249.5.123]
tcplogd: auth connection attempt from dial-1393.tor.pathcom.com [216.249.5.123]

I assume this happened during the installation of
netbase_3.17-1_i386.deb which was one of the packages that got
upgraded. Why is/was this necessary as part of netbase's installation ?
Thanks.
