Several problems

Well, here I am to ask you out there some few questions.

1) Whenever I run X and switch to the console (ex.: control alt f2) and
come back to X, it freezes. everytime. what could be wrong?

2) I've been trying to enable that HP 680C printer. Well look at the
output of insmod:

cdemo:~# modprobe lp
/lib/modules/2.2.14/misc/lp.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
/lib/modules/2.2.14/misc/lp.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.2.14/misc/lp.o failed
/lib/modules/2.2.14/misc/lp.o: insmod lp failed
cdemo:~# insmod lp
Using /lib/modules/2.2.14/misc/lp.o
/lib/modules/2.2.14/misc/lp.o: init_module: Device or resource busy
cdemo:~#

The printer IS fine, it's been tested on a Windoze machine the same day.
What could be wrong here too?
