Possibly.  Have you tried the NIC in a different ISA slot?

I would suggest that you use a newer kernel.  From the looks of things,
you're using 2.0.36; I would try 2.0.38 or 2.2.14.  If you use a newer
kernel and you're still having these problems then I would say it's a
hardware problem of some sort.
