If it's a 16450, you might tune the harddisk to reduce interrupt latency. 38400 baud is the absolute maximum then. Try to reduce it to 19200. Check if the modem is set up to use hardware flow control. Check your cable to see all pins are connected. Nils -- Plug-and-Play is really nice, unfortunately it only works 50% of the time. To be specific the "Plug" almost always works. --unknown source
